Christopher Calderon
31-year old Christopher Calderon (89) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Siquirres and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had a double-double of 32 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Asobasca (#7, 1-6) 96-91. Siquirres is placed at 3rd position in Costa Rican league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Siquirres will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. In the team's last game Calderon had a remarkable 70.6% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Siquirres, through which he has constantly improved. Calderon has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 17.5ppg) and averages solid 65.1% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Mario Herrera (174-PG-97) of league's second-best Escazu. He is former international guard in his 5th season at Escazu. In the last game Herrera recorded impressive double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he led Escazu to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Alajuela (#6, 2-7) 96-45. Escazu's second position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just one game this season, while they won 6 matches. Herrera is one of the most experienced players at Escazu and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to center Dario Solis (192-C-03) of Asobasca (#7). Solis scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Solis' great performance Asobasca lost 91-96 to the higher-ranked Siquirres (#3, 4-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Asobasca can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-6 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Solis has a very solid season. In 5 games in Costa Rica he scored 13.6ppg.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
